Understanding Your Body Mass Index (BMI) Visually
Traditional BMI calculators give you a number and a category (Underweight, Normal, Overweight, Obese), but they don't show you what that actually means for your physical body shape. Our Body Width & BMI Visualizer dynamically generates a silhouette based on your exact height and weight, simulating the 2D volume of your body.
How It Works
We calculate your BMI using the standard formula (Weight in kg / Height in meters squared). We then compare your BMI against an "Ideal" or baseline BMI of 22. By analyzing this ratio, the visualizer intelligently scales your silhouette horizontally. A shadow overlay of the baseline BMI allows you to instantly see the difference between your current body mass and the average proportion.
BMI Categories
- Underweight (Below 18.5): May indicate a need to gain weight for better health.
- Normal Weight (18.5 - 24.9): Associated with the lowest health risks.
- Overweight (25.0 - 29.9): Slight increase in health risks.
- Obese (30.0 and above): Higher risk for conditions like heart disease and diabetes.
